I have met Louise first time in 2007 through the recommendation of managing director of my former employer and my direct supervisor. At the time I was marketing director of that company and member of board of directors. It has been a challenging position in the turbulent times.

Since then she was my long term personal and professional coach.
My briefing to Louise has not been simple and short. It has been rather complex matter including 3 main aspects: how to strengthen working relationship of my team within the entire organization, how to build the trust and motivation of my team towards me and finally how to support me in effective management of my team.

Louise worked out already after the first briefing well thought through, comprehensive and exhaustive program to address all the aspects. Her approach was very unique, with deep insights of human behavior in stressful situations, communication misunderstandings and how to handle it, how to generate out of the box thinking, how to develop virtuosity instead of learned way of doing things. I have especially praised her for in depth explanations of these aspects which I could not ever think of. On top of it, she could bring it in very pleasant, straightforward and touching way.

Louise’s way of work with the teams is very special. She created from the first moment absolutely comfortable and pleasant atmosphere in the group of up to 15. With her inner peace, spontaneity and sharp observation she mastered the most delicate moments in the process of analyzing the team. She could uncover personal barriers and fears which continuously slowed down the teamwork and development of the talents. She gained immediately trust of all of us. Although we were all exhausted after the session, we could not wait to the following one. (In the later stage some members of team asked to follow also personal coaching in her practice). The results of the team sessions with Louise were recognized immediately not only by me but also within the organization. The teamwork was stronger, the team visibly more confident and more open to new situations/changes. The further sessions were very important to anchor the previous learnings and bring the team to the next level.

I had also the opportunity and pleasure to follow the individual coaching by Louise, in both the professional and personal development. Again, this experience has been very intense at that time and has still effects in my life. Louise has tremendous ability to “unpeel” the inner in very subtle way, yet sharp and to the point. She triggers the client to work independently and hard on her/his own development with targeted tasks. She is very consequent in supervising this process and makes the complete circle of findings and recommendations. She can perfectly handle single focus on professional or personal development although they are connected to each other.

Based on my own, long term working relationship with Louise I highly recommend Louise for her in-depth knowledge and unique way of work. She is very experienced and profound coach. She combines in fantastic way the rational, emotional and spiritual spectrum in her work. Individuele coaching van Louise is een persoonlijke verrijking. Ik heb haar leren kennen door een zeer inspirerende presentatie/workshop die zij gaf aan de Design Academy. Haar ontwapende persoonlijkheid en innerlijke rust gaf een hele prettige sfeer en de inhoud was bovendien boeiend.
Later ben ik bij haar in individuele coaching gegaan. Het bijzondere is dat zij alle ruimte geeft en volledig afgestemd is in de individuele coaching. Ik heb inmiddels jarenlang ervaring mogen opdoen met de coaching aanpak van Louise van Roij, met name in team coaching, maar ook in persoonlijke coaching van medewerkers.

De coaching van Louise is uniek te noemen omdat ze de mensen die gecoached worden niet stuurt op veranderingen in hun gedrag, maar hen juist op een dieper level inzichten laat krijgen, waarna gedrag vanzelf verandert. Een coachingtraject met Louise is als een warm bad na een pittige wandeling door de ijzige vrieskou. De manier van coachen van Louise kenmerkt zich door het vergroten van het inzicht in jezelf. Veranderen is geen doel op zich. Veranderen gaat over gedrag.
